Flying APE’s Spotted in Alabama!

Vice Construction had a job with Alabama Power where pulling in a crane on the job site with a vibratory hammer wouldn’t be possible. So APE teamed up with Erickson Air Crane to come up with a solution that has worked in the past, a Flying APE 150 Vibratory Hammer! The location was a tough squeeze and there were times the team was driving the cans within a hundred feet from peoples homes. The helicopter had to work at a “higher” than normal altitude due to the fact that the clearing tract for the job was not wide enough for the helicopter to work in, so needless to say the air crane had to remain above the tree line.

You can imagine the pilot had his work cut out for him; the longer the line, the more difficult it will be to maneuver. The piles were 48 inch (3/8 wall) and up to 48 feet long. Piles were driven the week after thanksgiving. On Monday, November 29th the job site had some of the worst weather of the year. Tornado warnings, storms, wind, rain, we were not able  fly unfortunately. The APE 150 finished its job Friday. Once we found the groove, things went smooth (As smooth as one can go with a 9000 h.p. helicopter overhead churning up 100 m.p.h. winds below).

If I tell you, I’ll have to kill you…

Some projects are so senstive, so secret that we just can’t talk about them. Such is the case with several projects going on in the Southeast right now. Top Secret Naval projects, Highly secure and confidential LNG applications, and Miltary Bomb Plant Installitions all require contractors to do things a little differently. There is no room for delays, shut-downs or mis-haps, thats why contractors call on American Piledriving Equipment. A.P.E. will not only supply top of the line equipment, but will provide complete support and service second to none.
If we can give contractors peace of mind on these types of projects, imagine how comfortable you will be with A.P.E. equipment on your job!

Five Weeks or Next Day?

While working in Charlotte, NC one of your 35- AT’s goes down. The good news: you are in the city where your 35-AT was manufactured. So, you make the call for the necessary parts. The bad news: your are told it will be FIVE weeks before you can get your parts. Then someone on your crew remembers that American Piledriving Equipment and J & M Foundation can supply you with parts for your “green” equipment.
Once again, A.P.E. worked together from across the country to get A.D.F. back to work. From FL, to NC, to Seattle, Wa. the A.P.E. team got the parts together on Friday Afternoon and had them on site the next morning. By Saturday Afternoon, A.D.F. was back at work…no FIVE week wait!
American Piledriving Equipment knows the value of teamwork! The “old-timers” at A.P.E. understand this concept and believe in it…anything less is just bad business!
Give us a call and let the A.P.E team work for you!

No Pictures Allowed!

Boy, talk about a touchy subject!
In last months article, “If you cant beat ’em, join ’em”, seems some feathers got ruffled. Well, keep reading, more “ruffling” to come!
The competition has now placed orders for three more A.P.E. 150-T’s for their rental fleet. Another competitor has ordered some 28-35’s and some 44’s for their rental fleet. All of these hammers will eventually end up in Florida.
It should be clear by now that American Piledriving Equipment has proven the statement: we build some of the best piledriving equipment in the world. We know it, our competition knows it, and now, these guys are helping us prove it!
So, as I said before, no matter if your rental hammer is out of Virgina, Kansas, Florida, or anywhere in between, look behind the logos, look beneath, the paint, chances are good that you will find an A.P.E Vibro ready to go to work!
American Piledriving Equipment…we build some of the finest Piledriving Equipment in the world…just ask the competition!

If you can’t beat ’em…join ’em!

American Piledriving Equipment has long stated that our Equipment is among the best in the world. We truly believe this and now it looks as though the competition believes it as well.
These pictures have two things in common: first, you will see equipment manufactured by American Piledriving Equipment. Second, none of it is owned by A.P.E. rather it is owned by competitors and in their rental fleets readily available throughout the Southeast.
So when your next Hammer shows up at your jobsite, no matter if you ordered it out of St. Louis, Mo., Kansas City, KS., Orlando, FL., or anywhere in between, look beneath the paint, look behind the logo and you may very well find beats the heart of an A.P.E.!

We work when you work!

We all know that delays can cost a contractor dearly. No matter what the delay, making up lost time is difficult at best. Longer hours and short cuts, often lead to even more, sometimes severe delays.
So when an A.P.E. customer needed to work through the 4th of July, American Piledriving Equipment was there to lend a hand. Many contractors will take the 5th and 6th off as well, but not everyone. Some guys will be hard at it driving pile…American Piledriving Equipment will be right there with them doing our part to help the job finish on time!
At A.P.E., we work when you work!

Breakdowns Suck!

When a competiors hammer receintly failed on the job, the contractor made the call to A.P.E. in order to solve his problem.
Another CSX railroad project is underway and Fenton Rigging is once again on the job for them. With the past success Fenton has with American Piledriving Equipment, it was a quick call once again to Wally Brumsey for the solution. In fact, Wally is no stranger to CSX either, having supplied Hammers direct to CSX when they have the manpower keep projects in house.
The A.P.E. D19-42 was made ready and sent on its way to drive the piles. “From now on, we will wait for the A.P.E. Hammer to drive our piles. It is a lot more cost effective to start the job a week or so later than to break down in the middle of driving piles and have to scramble to recover.”
A.P.E. is proud to be the Hammer of choice with Fenton Rigging as well as CSX, and wish to thank them and all of you that have made American Piledriving Equipment your first call in solving your piledriving needs.

One call is all it takes!

What do Tallahassee,Fl. and Atlanta,Ga. have in common? Archer Western and American Piledriving Equipment.
With projects all over the Southeast, Archer Western is no stranger to the business. When equipment was needed for the I-10 improvements in Tallahasee, the A.P.E. Model 200 Vibro was selected.
In Atlanta, the I-85 improvements required the use of the A.P.E. Model D25-42.
Two completely different projects that will require different equipment, with different results, in different states. A.P.E. is proud to partner with Archer Western on these projects.
No matter what or where, one call to American Piledriving Equipment can solve all your piledriving issues.

What’s the point?

What’s the point of trying to do the right thing every time you make a decision? What’s the point of going out and giving 100% when others are trying to just “get by”? Whats the point? Well, what comes around goes around and in the end you can stand tall and be proud.
Such is the case with Consoldated Mechanical. When asked to drive 60 footers in uncertain soil conditions with a small crane, they looked to American Piledriving Equipment for answers.
It took months of planning and effort to get the infromation needed to try and do this right. In the end the A.P.E. Model 50 Vibro was the chosen both for it’s size and it’s ability to deliver a little more punch if necessary.
Driving the 60 footers with the Model 50 was not an issue. however, 60 feet was not going to be enough. Another 20 feet was added and the pile found it’s mark. The rest of the 80 foot piles went in without issue and in the end, Consolidated Mechanical stood tall and proud, they finished on time and under budget. American Piledriving Equipment was proud to play a part in Consolidated Mechanical’s success.
Big job, small job, first timer, or old timer, A.P.E. delivers the equipment you need and the service you deserve.

Who you gonna call?

When Georgia Power needed to install an additional pump station at it’s Smyrna Power Plant, they knew it would be no easy task. The jobsite was tight, add to that the stubborn Georgia clay along with layers of rock, and driving the 45-foot, PZ-27’s became even more difficult.
Difficult jobs require the best, so Georgia Power called on Christopher Wilson of American Shoring. When piledriving is an issue for American Shoring, Christopher calls on American Piledriving Equipment.
The A.P.E. Model 200-6 was selected for the job. The result: another successful project for Christopher Wilson and American Shoring. A.P.E. is proud to play a part in their success and looks forward to being there when once again, difficult jobs require the best!
